Mike Maloy’s documentary “Finding Enid with Love” was among 53 films screened as part of the 14th annual Hill Country Film Festival June 2 through 5 in Fredericksburg, Texas. The film, which had its world premier showing at the event, won the festival’s “People’s Choice” audience-favorite award.

Date Night in College Station, Texas, just became a no-brainer. Simply whisk your partner off to “Elements with Enid,” a visionary show at Texas A&M featuring stunning exhibits created by students in the Benz School’s advanced Floral Art course, alongside the nearly 100 original Enid Collins of Texas bags that inspired them. Karen Adler helped Texas A&M Asst. Prof. Wendy Osburn select the bags for the challenging course and loaned bags, accessories and archival advertising to the school for the culminating show––which is like nothing we’ve ever seen before.
Nearly 100 original vintage bags from the Finding Enid with LOVE Collection are on loan to Texas A&M University for a Floral Art student exhibition that uses the elements and principles of floral design to take a fresh look at Enid Collins, whose haute couture handbags were the pride of Texas for more than 50 years.
Finding Enid with LOVE will hold a “Collinsiana Cabana” pop-up store as part of Arizona Tiki Oasis at the end of April in Scottsdale. Visitors will be able to shop scores of original Mid-Century box bags and totes by Collins of Texas, plus a selection of Enid-inspired imitators.
