Be a “Conversation-Starter”: Share Your Story
Enid Collins liked to say that her bags were "guaranteed conversation-starters." If you've ever worn your Enid Collins bag to a party, to work, practically anywhere outside of your own closet, then you know the effect her bling-bedecked work has on people. One of my favorite things about Collins designs is the way they spark conversations and create experiences that would probably never happen if someone hadn't been drawn to the flash of a jewel-eyed pussy or the clatter of stuff inside a box bag.
Why do you love these purses? I'd love to hear your stories about memories and experiences from your life with your Collins objects. A primary goal of the Finding Enid with LOVE project is qualitative research through real-world stories and memories from the people interested in and affected by Enid Collins and her work. This fieldwork takes an ethnographic approach, seeking not just to gather information and evidence but to help people understand the meaning of Enid Collins works in their own lives.
Sharing can be as simple as you'd like. Share a photo of yourself with some "guaranteed conversation-starter" piece -- now or then. Tell a brief anecdote about stumbling on a fabulous find, a memorable event or when you first realized you were an obsessed Enid Collins fanatic, er, I mean, "collector." Or make a short video telling us about your collection (no matter how small -- newbies welcome!), your memories or why you can't seem to get enough Enid Collins.

What better way to celebrate Enid Collins works than with a video, a medium that captures all the enthusiasm and nuance words or still images alone can miss.
